STORY OF AN ARTIST
Velina Staleva - born in Kazanlak, Bulgaria on October 13, 1989. Graduated in Bachelor and Master degrees, specializing in Mural painting,University of Veliko Turnovo, where from 2014 is a PhD student. In 2016 specialized mosaic in Ravenna, Italy. Works in the field of monumental arts, mural painting, stained glass, mosaic, installation forms and painting. Participates in collective projects, workshops, exhibitions, etc. Among the creative realizations of the author are stained glass "Autumn - maturity and knowledge" (5,5sq.m.) 2015 and mosaics "Water" and "Mind - Technology" (5,5sq.m.) 2012 in Corpus 5, University of Veliko Turnovo. In 2014 she participated in the first exhibition dedicated to the classic stained glass in Bulgaria - "The Bulgarian Stained glass Exhibition" with the panel "Purposefulness, illusion and reality". In 2016 is curator and participant in monumental realizations "Art installation - projections of the light", colective project of five artists. In 2017 she took part in International Bienalle of glass, Sofia and present the instalation glass work, named "Flight" -  five panels of painted and fused glass. From 2018 is a member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists, Veliko Tarnovo and International Association of Contemporary Mosaicists - AIMC.

I use a variety of materials and techniques which allow the stained glass and mosaic art. The combinated of colorfuli and ahromatic tones is leading part of my works and  generates varios of feelings into the viewer. Below you can find examples of my style and artistic methods within my current and past collections.
INTERNATIONAL BIENNALE OF GLASS 2017 - PARTICIPATION IN GENERAL EXHIBITION OF INTERNATIONAL BIENNALE OF GLASS IN THE RED POINT GALLERY, SOFIA
Velina Staleva is among the participations in International Bienalle of glass 2017, Sofia. In the exposition, opened on 29/September in the Red Point Gallery, she presented the instalation glass work "Flight" - consisting of five panels of painted and fused glass.
BULGARIAN STAINED GLASS EXHIBITION, VITRA GALERY, SOFIA - PARTISIPATION
In 2014 Velina Staleva took part in "Bulgarian Stained Glass Exhibition" - the first exhibition in Bulgaria dedicated to the history and the modern achievements in this type of art. The idea came from  artist Yuriy Vasilev and the manager Iskra Pavlova. The exhibition is opened in September 2014 in "Vitra Gallery". The exposition is shown in four Bulgarian cities: Sofia, Veliko Turnovo, Varna, Sliven and is returns in Sofia to be  part of the year exibition of The Union of Bulgarian Artists in september 2015
STAINED GLASS INSTALLATION - PROJECTIONS OF LIGHT -Â CURATOR AND PARTICIPANT
The art installation "Projections of light" is a collective project, combining the work of five young artists working in the field of glass: Velina Staleva, Vesela Petrova, Daniel Ivanov, Nevena Lefterova Plamen Kondov, led by Assoc. Prof. Boris Zhelev. The ensemble is presented in a dynamic composition filled in Tiffany technique, fusing and stained glass. The individual panels are combined into an overall structure that initiates an optimistic picture of the reading glass prism reminiscent of familiar childhood kaleidoscope. The variety of shades and set of colorful and illuminating reflections is a kind, color harmony between classic style and innovative approaches to work with glass. Unlike conventional frames of classic exposition of this technique, art installation "Projections of light" has the ability to exist outside architecture liberated from its design requirements and constraints still work retains its monumental nature. In response to modern stereotypes of individuality and autonomy, the installation work has the opportunity to communicate with a large audience of unlimited social and cultural nature. The installation follows a long process of self-discovery and interaction between young authors expressed through diverse possibilities of stained glass technique. A joint project of Art Gallery "Dimitar Dobrovich - Sliven, students from University of Art in Veliko Tarnovo, majoring in" Mural Painting ", funded by the Culture Fund of the Ministry of Culture in Bulgaria

The installation  "Autumn Accessories" is made in clasical stained glass technique "Tiffany", fused and painted glass. The work is inspired by the utilitarian object - an umbrella. My work in the field of stained glass art has provocated me to present my interpretation of this object by turning it from a utilitarian object into a glass art work.

This work is part of the "Winter Footage" series. It gives a sense of cold into the viewer. The glass is an extremely appropriate material for expressing this idea, and its qualities create the illusion of a frozen window through which can see the beautiful white winter.
